The Great Wall of China

FCm Travel Solutions has a strong equity presence in China, with 95% ownership of our Chinese operations and a long-term plan to continue our organic growth. We are among the leading travel management groups in the country, and are continuously expanding our capabilities to meet the needs of the local corporate travel sector.

Our evolution in China

  • In July 2004 our parent company, Flight Centre Limited, entered a joint venture with China Comfort Travel to form FCm Travel Solutions China. Headquartered in Beijing, China Comfort was the country’s third largest international travel group at that time, with more than 1,200 agencies nationwide.
  • This historical event launched FCm onto the global corporate travel stage, while marking our foray into a strategic commercial market.
  • FCm China subsequently established wholly-owned offices in the growing commercial centres of Shanghai and Guangzhou. In addition to our operations in Hong Kong, this network gives us the ability to service clients throughout the Greater China region.
  • In November 2005, FCm purchased a further 45% stake in our JV with China Comfort Travel, taking our ownership and control of our operations in China to 95%.
  • In May 2009, we further expanded our service capabilities by establishing a wholly-owned international ticketing agency in Beijing.
